Role Summary:

The Lean-Agile SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and mentor for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE’s primary responsibilities are to plan and facilitate the ART’s events and processes through the preparation, planning, execution, and learning cycles to help improve value delivery. You will work with ART business owners, Product Managers, System Architects, and others to lead and optimize the flow of value the ART delivers. You will mentor, coach, and train as needed across all levels of the ART towards continuous improvement of performance.

This hybrid position will be based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post PI Planning events
  • Facilitate the PI planning event
  • Facilitate regular synchronization events, including the ART sync, Leadership sync, Scrum of Scrums, etc
  • Coach and train leaders, teams, Scrum Masters, and others in Lean-Agile practices and approaches
  • Help manage risks and dependencies. Call out and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other team members to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
  • Assists the portfolio by facilitating feature estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics
  • Regularly meets with ART business owners and other partners to think beyond day-to-day activities to determine strategic direction and strategy
  • Help to drive the innovation cycle
  • Facilitate System Demos

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or have related work experience
  • Certified in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) SPC or RTE
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience working in a role responsible for broad, multi-functional alignment and execution in an Agile environment with demonstrated ability to communicate and influence across business and technical domains, and across all levels of the organization
  • Highly motivated with superb communication, leadership, and motivational skills
  • Adept at presenting to large groups and able to hold the audience's attention
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies to work effectively in a rapid growth environment
  • Prior experience working in the Financial Services industry (preferred)
